Teacher Recertification Schedule of Courses for 2008EDF 2005 Introduction to EducationThis course is designed to introduce students to the philosophical, historical and social foundations of education. It also provides them with the opportunity to examine current educational issues and explore education as a career (appropriate as a sociological foundation). Note: Fifteen hours of field experience in an elementary, middle or secondary school may be required.

This course introduces teaching to the technologies available for classroom instruction and activities. Technologies covered include production, multimedia, communication and reference materials. This course is an introduction to the principles and theories of psychology, as applied to the process of education. Topics of study include psychological perspectives of education, learning theory and the critical evaluation of the psychology of education (approved for psychological foundations).
