SCC's Art & Phyllis Grindle Honors Institute offers enrichment programs for students who wish to enhance their academic experience, including: Honors Diploma Program SCC's Honors Diploma Program is an advanced and specialized curriculum of faculty-created courses used as alternatives to the General Education Requirements. With its own faculty, courses, scholarships, small class sizes, personalized advising and priority registration, the Honors Diploma Program is highly regarded among four-year universities who often offer its graduates generous scholarships. Honors Certificate Program Similar to the Honors Diploma Program, the Certificate Program is designed for Associate in Science degree students and academically talented students whose majors, such as chemistry, nursing, music, physics, etc., require a strict course of study. Science Merit Diploma and Science Diploma Programs Recommended by Florida universities, these programs combine eight challenging science and math courses, along with a science seminar course, to provide a diverse educational foundation that includes the entry-level courses required for continued study in most math, science, engineering and health fields. Phi Theta Kappa An international scholastic honors society for two-year colleges, SCC is host to the Pi Lambda Chapter. Pi Lambda stands for scholarship, leadership, fellowship and service, and membership is earned through specified qualifications, honor and service to others.
