  What are the steps to be admitted to the College?
The steps to enroll at SCC differ based on whether you are a first-time-in-college, transfer, or international student, or a student who is interested in our certificate programs. Click here for more information.
  When is the application deadline?
  Do my credits transfer from my other college(s)?
If you are transferring from another college or university, you will need to submit your transcript to SCC's Records Office, at 100 Weldon Blvd., Sanford, FL 32773, to be evaluated. You should also make an appointment to meet with an academic adviser at 407.708.2337. You are asked to submit your transcripts at least two months prior to your advising appointment to provide adequate time for the SCC Records Office to evaluate them before you register for classes.
  What are the Admissions Office Hours?
  When can I register for fall?
New students may register after their advising appointment. Returning students can view their registration appointment by logging into the MySCC system. Open registration begins Monday, August 4, 2008.
  When can I register as a transient?
Open registration for the fall term is August 4, 2008.
  What are the tuition fees?
  Where can I get a parking permit?
You can obtain a parking permit at the cashier window, located in the breezeway of the Student Services building on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus and at the Business Office on the Oviedo Campus.
  How much does a parking permit cost?
Parking is free on all SCC campuses.
  What students must attend Orientation?
All degree-seeking college-credit and vocational students.
  When do I need to submit my transcripts?
Official transcripts should be on file in the SCC Records Office at least two weeks before your advising appointment. New students should bring copies of their test scores to their appointment. Transfer students should bring a copy of their college transcripts to their advising appointment. Students are also asked to submit their transcripts at least two months prior to their scheduled advising appointment to provide adequate time for the SCC Records Office to evaluate them before registering for classes.
  How can I be considered a Florida resident?

To be considered a Florida resident, you should supply two primary documents (or one primary document and two supporting documents) from the following list:

Primary Document
  • A Florida driver license;
  • A Florida voter registration;
  • A lease agreement vehicle registration (new, plus previous year);
  • A professional license;
  • Florida high school transcripts or an occupational license;
  • Florida college transcripts for multiple-year Florida court documents;
  • Permanent employment (part-time, excluding summer) Florida incorporation;
  • Letters of certification;
  • Purchase of a permanent home in Florida (State of Florida agency documents);
  • Purchase of Florida real property;
  • Homestead Exemption;
  • Military documentation; and/or
  • Declaration of a domicile in Florida
Supporting Documents
  • Vehicle registration (new, plus previous year);
  • Professional license;
  • Occupational license;
  • Florida court documents;
  • Florida incorporation;
  • Letters of certification; and/or
  • State of Florida agency documents

If you are under the age of 24:

  • You must have at least two documents from the above lists, plus a copy of your 1040 forms for proof of financial independence (applicants must have claimed themselves and they need a copy of their parents' 1040);
  • Dependents need one parent's signature (with the same last name) on the residency form plus copies of two documents from the above lists.

Dependent students with different last names than the claimant :

  • Must bring additional documentation to prove their relationship to the claimant. Acceptable documents include tax returns showing that the student was claimed by the claimant, birth certificates, and high school transcripts showing the claimant as guardian.
