    SCC's Computer Science, Math and Engineering Scholars (CSEMS) scholarship program annually provides 24 scholarships to students with financial need majoring in computer programming, E-business, engineering, networking, information technology and mathematics.  This scholarship pays for tuition, lab fees and books.

    Program Benefits

    • One-on-one weekly meetings with a faculty mentor
    • Seminars from academic and industry professionals
    • Support from Career Development Center to develop employability skills and job search strategies
    • Tutoring through the SCC Academic Success Center
    • Enhanced student services and expanded resources
    • Personal educational plans with counselors

    Program Selection and Requirements

    • Be a Florida resident and a United States citizen or provide proof of permanent residency.
    • Maintain full-time enrollment status at SCC as defined by the College.
    • Be a first time Computer Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics AS or AA degree seeker
    • Be eligible for Federal financial assistance (complete FAFSA form)
    • Have a 3.0 GPA or higher to be accepted into the program and maintain a SCC GPA of 2.75 or higher to remain in the program.
    • Submit transcripts from high school and any prior college coursework with your application.
    • Attend all meetings, conferences, and other activities associated with the CSEMS program, including weekly meetings with your faculty mentor.
    • Maintain full responsibilities as a CSEMS Scholar by following the rules of SCC and the program.
    • Completed application with essay
    • Complete academic testing (SAT or ACT)

    • Workshops related to professional development, leadership skills and peer mentoring
    • Web discussions and faculty roundtables via ANGEL
    • "Meet the Professionals" opportunities
    • Peer mentors for first year students
    • Weekly meeting with faculty mentor
    • CSEMS Web page development participation
